2009 Bratislava Summer School

Scope

The School covers the current Topics of Nuclear Physics and Particle Accelerators with application in Medicine and Biology. The School puts emphasis on the basis, physical and technical principles.

The School Program Schedule and Lecture Abstracts have been announced.

General information is given in the 1st Circular (Jan 2009) and in the 2nd Circular (May 2009). In the 3rd Circular (Juni 2009) 

Speakers

The Speakers of the School are specialists in their fields.and include

IEEE NPSS Distinguished Lecturer: William Moses (Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory, USA).

Invited Speakers: Claude Leroy (U Montreal), Erik Heijne (CERN).

Participants


Ideal participants are undergraduate and graduate University students of Engineering, Physics, Medicine and Biology. Interested participants are asked to register. Registration is open from 1 March thru 31 May 2009.

Participants are encouraged to give a short talk or to present poster on their Thesis and Research Work. Student contributions will be entitled to submit a short paper to be included in the School Proceedings.

Proceedings


The School Proceedings will be published by the American Institute of Physics (AIP).


School Venue


The School will take place at the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics of the Comenius University in Bratislava, Slovakia.

Working Language


Official language of the Courses and Proceedings is English.

Participation Fee


School Participation Fee is 690 EUR. It covers both participation and accommodation (double room in University Congres Centrum Družba), full board (3 meals), coffee breaks, AIP Proceedings book (one copy), school banquet, school excursion.

Accomodation


Participants will be accomodated at the Comenius University Congres Centrum Družba in Bratislava.


Poster


The Poster of the School will be announced in the 2nd Circular (late March 2009).
